What are PDO threads and what can they treat?

PDO threads are are small threads made form a sugar molecule similar to the suture material used in surgery.  This is why a thread lift is sometimes referred to as a sugar lift. These threads will dissolve in about six months and leave a collagen scaffolding behind letting you enjoy results for up to two after treatment.

What can threads treat?

Threads can lift the tissue to reposition fat that has descended down the face giving you a cleaner jaw line or smoother contoured cheek. This lift can also minimize nasolabial folds and marionette lines.  You can also use the threads to lift and shape the eyebrows.  Another type of thread can be used to create volume to replace the need for filler in areas such as the nasolabial folds, under eyes, and lips. These types of threads will sit under the skin and build volume that mimics filler. The volume is your own collagen so it lasts longer and there aren’t risks of lumps and bumps.

What is the downtime?

Threads can be uncomfortable for the first few days depending on what kind of threads you receive. You can also expect to have bruising. If you are having threads to lift the face you should avoid sleeping on your side for about a week. You should avoid radio frequency treatments to the areas treated if you are lifting tissue.
