Laser Treatments | Luctronic eCO2
CO2 laser resurfacing is a cutting-edge procedure designed to rejuvenate and revitalize your skin. This advanced treatment uses a carbon dioxide laser to precisely remove the outer layers of damaged skin, revealing the smoother, healthier skin beneath. The procedure effectively reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and uneven pigmentation, offering a more youthful and radiant complexion. Additionally, CO2 laser resurfacing stimulates collagen production, enhancing skin elasticity and firmness over time.
At Raleigh Plastic, all procedures are performed with Lutronic’s fractional eCO2 laser. This smart device allows our providers to tailor treatments to each patient’s individual skin and concerns. Ideal for those seeking significant skin improvement with minimal downtime, this innovative treatment can help you achieve a fresher, more vibrant appearance. A consultation is required for all patients considering CO2 resurfacing. During this appointment, our providers will determine if CO2 resurfacing is an appropriate treatment for you and which level of resurfacing will be best to help you achieve your goals. Treatments range from superficial resurfacing with minimal downtime to intensive resurfacing with options to treat while under anesthesia for surgery. This procedure is highly customized, with varying degrees of topical numbing and downtime. All of this will be explained in detail during your consultation.
Following a superficial fractional resurfacing treatment, patients commonly experience mild swelling and redness that lasts around 2-5 days. More intensive treatments can cause redness that lasts for 1-2 weeks. However, in most instances, normal activities can be resumed as early as 5 days post-treatment.
Achieving optimal results depends on the patient’s age, skin type, extent of sun damage, and willingness to endure more downtime with a single treatment or less downtime across 2-3 treatments.
FAQ
Q: Is there any patient discomfort after the treatment?
A: Since CO2 lasers are often used for more severe skin issues like deep rhytides and scarring, they can sometimes lead to more significant discomfort compared to other laser treatments. To manage this, topical anesthetics are applied prior to treatment. Vinegar soaks, antihistamines, and cold compresses are often recommended post procedure for comfort. Your provider will review these recommendations with you at the consultation and on the day of your procedure.
Q: How many treatments for the best results?
A: Achieving optimal results depends on the patient’s age, skin type, extent of sun damage, and willingness to endure more downtime with a single treatment or less downtime across 2-3 treatments. The eCO2 fractional resurfacing parameters can be customized to meet patient goals and preferences, offering a tailored approach to their needs.
