BOTOX, Dysport, and Xeomin
Neuromodulators, including well-known brands such as BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®, are revolutionary injectable treatments designed to combat the signs of aging and achieve a more youthful appearance. These FDA-approved neurotoxins work by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles, effectively reducing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles and fine lines. Neuromodulators offer remarkable results with minimal downtime.
The Procedure
Consultation: Your provider will perform a full facial assessment and build a custom treatment plan that addresses your desires and concerns.
Photos: Please come with a clean face with minimal makeup. These photos will inform your provider’s decisions and allow you both to assess progress as you move through your treatment plan/aesthetic journey.
Ice: Ice helps to minimize bruising and provide comfort.
Treatment: Neuromodulator injections are a quick procedure with very minimal discomfort.
Follow Up: All new patients are scheduled for a refinement appointment. This allows your provider to assess how your muscles have reacted to treatment and make adjustments so you achieve the best possible outcome.
Recovery & Results
Neuromodulator/Botox injections require very little downtime. After injections, most patients experience small bumps that look like mosquito bites that disappear within 15 minutes to an hour. Same patients will experience a small amount of bruising from their injections, but this is uncommon. We ask that patients avoid laying down for 4-6 hours after treatment, avoid exercise for 24 hours, and avoid wearing hats, facials, and massage cradles for 3 days post injection. It takes 2 full weeks for neuromodulator treatments to reach full effect.
FAQ
What are neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators are popular cosmetic treatments derived from the botulinum toxin, designed to temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by relaxing targeted facial muscles. They work by blocking nerve signals to the muscles, preventing them from contracting and thus smoothing out wrinkles and lines in the treated areas.
Is this procedure safe?
When administered by a trained and experienced medical professional, neuromodulators are considered a safe and effective treatment. However, like any medical procedure, it carries some risks and potential side effects, which will be discussed during your consultation.
Are injections painful?
Most patients report only minimal discomfort during injections, often describing it as a quick pinch or stinging sensation. Ice may be used to numb the area beforehand to enhance comfort.
